Double Wall Insultated
BPA Free
18/8 Stainless Steel
This is really the key to the success of this product:
No Sweat
Pack it with ice cubes. Fill it with water. Set it on your mother’s beautifully lacquered coffee table without a coaster. She will protest vociferously – that is, until you explain how the double-walled insulation of the Hydro Flask keeps it from sweating and leaving those rings that would otherwise haunt your mother through many a sleepless night.

EPA a failure on chemicals, audit finds

January 24th, 2009 by Hydro Flask

The Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to assess toxic chemicals is as broken as the nation’s financial markets and needs a total overhaul, a congressional audit has found.

The Government Accountability Office has released a report saying the EPA lacks even basic information to say whether chemicals pose substantial health risks to the public. It says actions are needed to streamline and increase the transparency of the EPA’s registry of chemicals. And it calls for measures to enhance the agency’s ability to obtain health and safety information from the chemical industry. To read Meg Kissinger of the Journal Sentinel’s full story, click HERE.

Plastic Baby Bottle with BPA

David Case from our friends over at Fast Company has written one of-if not the best articles we have read here at Hydro Flask.

It’s scary to think of not only the affects of BPA, but what else has been hurting-killing us that we don’t know about because of government (And other large agency) cover ups.

Kudos to Mr. Civil Disobedience himself.

After 27 year old University of Utah grad student Tim DeChristopher learned that 164,000 acres of pristine land was to be auctioned off to big oil and gas companies he decided to do something about it.

He simply slipped passed protesters and stepped quietly into the auction and picked up paddle number 70. And in an act that would later draw worldwide attention, Tim drove up the bidding price of 12 parcels equal to roughly 22,000 acres. Mr. DeChristopher has then removed by a Federal Agent that asked what Tim was doing. “I said I was disrupting what I felt was a fraudulent auction in an act of civil disobedience” said Tim.

It turns out that Tim may have been in fact correct in that a judge has since ordered BLM to stop handing over leases of the 77 parcels that were scraped until the courts can decide if the auction was even legal in the first place.

To this we at Hydro Flask say: congratulations Tim, and keep up the good work.
