Travis Rosbach was fed up with reusable beverage bottles that failed on every level, from plastics that leached harmful BPA to temperature fluctuations that would make Mercury ashamed. If the hot tea he put in them didn’t scald his hands when he picked them up, then the ice-cold water he took to the beach made the bottles sweat and collect more sand than a sunbather’s bikini bottom.

So Hydro Flask® began with a challenge: to create a reusable water bottle that truly performs in any environment. It had to keep hot liquids hot and cold liquids cold. Period. The result of a year and a half of hard work and research is our beloved Hydro Flask. They are made from 18/8 stainless steel and feature double-wall vacuum insulation that ensures the temperature of the liquid inside never mingles with the temperature of the environment outside. Your hots will stay hot for 12 hours, and your colds will stay cold for 24.

Concurrently, Rosbach launched FivePercentBack.org, a website that enables the Hydro Flask customers to donate 5% of the company's gross profit to any one of a list of charities that support emergency response services, animal advocacies, social efforts, and humanitarian services.
