Product Design Engineer

Hydro Flask is looking for an experienced, technical, and innovative Product Design Engineer to join its growing team in Bend, Oregon. The Product Designer will lead Hydro Flask’s design efforts and be an important part of the company’s continued success. We seek someone with a proven track record in mechanical design of outdoor or performance products with solid analytical skills, an understanding of plastic and steel manufacturing, and a drive to create high performance products and exceptional quality.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Participate with cross-functional teams to advance new hydration product concepts through the product development process
  • Design and develop new product concepts and existing product improvement, using CAD software and related tools
  • Perform product prototype testing and troubleshooting for design refinement and ultimately, product design validation
  • Deliver manufacturable and performance-optimized final product design for production
  • Liaise with manufacturing partners and product manager for production of new products and manufacturing validation testing
  • Carry out product certification and product quality assurance activities
  • Support operations and product management with quality testing, failure analysis and continuous improvement
  • With Product Management, benchmarks current and competitive products using qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Support development of product instructions and packaging copy as needed
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Experience designing parts for mass-production processes such as: injection molding and sheet metal forming; direct experience with fluid containers a plus.
  • Effective project management, collaboration and communication abilities within a multifunctional R&D, Sales & Marketing, and Operations environment
  • Strong appreciation of the needs and desires of active end-users
  • Practical hands-on build and test capabilities
  • Strong follow through and ability to take responsibility for tasks to completion
  • Creativity, curiosity, and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
  • Strong computer and CAD expertise
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Travel as required both domestically and internationally

Education and Experience:

  • A mechanical engineering degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in product design and engineering with products at all states of the product life cycle
  • Experience working for a well-known brand a plus
  • Experience with CAD and rapid prototyping
  • Experience working with third party testing labs
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Enjoys the challenge of an open, creative, fast paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills with a willingness to communicate effectively and frequently

Hydro Flask is looking to add an experienced Online Marketing Manager to help build our marketing team and lead Hydro Flask’s customer acquisition, conversion and retention strategy/execution. Successful candidates are marketing professionals with a successful track record of strong online marketing and solid analytical skills..  If you meet the qualifications below please apply.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Create and manage all acquisition strategies through several channels. These may include social media sites, blogs, online banner networks, affiliate programs, keyword campaigns, SEO strategies and internal communication plans
  • Collaborate with UI designers to drive improvements to the home page, landing pages, site registration and activation touch-points
  • Increase and optimize all elements of customer acquisition
  • Identify and execute on opportunities for new online/viral marketing efforts geared towards maximizing traffic and sales
  • Own metric tracking and strategic evaluation of marketing initiatives
  • Provide cross-functional leadership with marketing, development, art and UI teams
  • Own communication with internal clients and groups (e.g., Sales, Art and Customer Service)
  • Manage external relationships with existing partners

Education and Experience

  • College Degree preferred
  • More than two years of ecommerce marketing - A thorough understanding of user-site flow dynamics and of online marketing technologies and strategies
  • Robust knowledge of online and general marketing principles and practices
