Rated 2 out of 5 by from Their bottles are great, this cap is not. I purchased a standard 18oz bottle with this cap. As another reviewer has already noted, after submerging the cap while washing I discovered water trapped inside. Luckily I heard the water and did not experience soapy water leaking into my drink. I had to shake the cap vigorously to get the water to leak out from within. I would recommend getting the sport cap. Because this standard cap's hollow internal space traps water while washing I can't give it more than 2 stars. I can't imagine this is ideal for keeping the bottle sanitized and your drinks uncontaminated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great bottles, horrible caps I bought two hydroflask bottles with the same standard mouth loop cap and both caps were flooded with water after the first wash. I discovered this when I went to use my bottles again and heard a sloshing sound coming from the caps. There doesn't seem to be a way to unscrew the caps to get the water out either. Pretty disappointing for the quality of the bottles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good lid, just make sure it's tight. I am surprised by the reviews. I noticed I have to screw it tight so it doesn't leak. When I do, there is no problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works fine for me. Honestly, I was surprised to see all the complaints. The lid has never failed me. I use it on one of the insulated bottles and have taken it out hiking, camping, and take bring it along with me just about every day and yet to have a leak. I don't put anything in it other than water. Contents other than water HAS interfered with the o-ring seal on my other bottles in the past. Putting other contents requires cleaning much more often than just water and in my experience dry-rots the o-ring faster. I simply put water in it to keep it hot or cold for longer. If I want to drink something other than water like tea, coffee, I use instant drink mix packets and use a separate cup to mix it in. If I were to add/change anything about the cap, I'd offset the loop to the side, and vacuum seal the cap as well. I don't think the cap is vacuum insulated or insulated at all for that matter. Reason I'd like a well insulated cap is because I go camping often in the mountains no matter how cold it is in the winter. It would be awesome if my water would be just a little hotter in the morning when I wake up for a hot cup of tea or coffee. But that's being a little picky I know, so its not really a big deal. If one was made, I'd buy it immediately is all I'm saying. Guess that's why I give it a 4 star rating.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Caps need to be re-engineered! Horrible. I like the flask itself, but i am VERY disappointed in the lids all leaking. I just got two more lids- a flat cap and flip-up cap, one for each flask i have. I thought mine were defective due to the leaks, only to find out that the new caps do the same thing. Not worth it if drinks are spilling in your lap =(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps cold thing cold and hot things hot I received a Hydroflask as a Christmas gift from my sister and her family, and I LOVE it, especially now that the hot summer months are upon us and my work does not have AC, it comes in handy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love My Hydro Flask! On the enthusiastic recommendation from my assistant cross-country coach I bought my Hydro Flask because of the fact that it doesn't "sweat" so I can put ice in it and cool done fluids all day. I bought mine with Standard Mouth Loop Cap because I prefer the flow of drinking straight from the flask rather than through a pop-up style or straw style top. I actually use my flask for all my fluid intake across the day: at the breakfast table, in my car, at my desk all morning, lunch, cross-country practice, dinner, home office desk at night. It has become my constant companion. Got the orange color so it's hard to misplace! Have not had a single "leakage" issue and I throw mine into my sports bag from time to time when I'm carrying other equipment. So I, like several others, was surprised that so many people have an issue with their tops. The thread design of the top allows for adequate tightening without any subsequent loosening from normal carrying. The threads are also wide enough that they have not deteriorated/loosened after hundreds of twist-offs and twist-ons. I'm so pleased with my flask that I went out and bought one for my wife. Went with a more subdued color for her . . . LOL . . .

Q & A

I just recently bought a 24oz bottle. Do you make the cap with a straw for this size?

Asked by: mom1
At this time we do not make a Straw Lid for the Standard Mouth Flasks. I would suggest trying out Sports Cap for the Standard Mouth Flasks!

Is there an accessory that loops around the flask and through the lid so the lid doesn't get lost when taken off the flask? Thanks in advance.
