Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs improvement!!! This lid came with my 32oz Hydro Flask and it would be perfect IF it did not have the black raised area in the center of the lid. It is nearly impossible to clean under and around the seal. I drink a green smoothie every morning and it is impossible to remove the seal to clean around it (I have tried everything from a toothpick to a dental pick to a paperclip to remove the seal without damaging it). If black raised area was removed from the design...then it would MUCH SIMPLER to clean and there would be no more hiddin' stuff waiting till the canteen is refilled with water to parade around in the Hydro Flask. Please consider this design change for future lids. I do recommend the Hydro Flask but I suggest buying a standard mouth or narrow mouth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Great for Me I have been using my 32oz wide mouth for over 6 months and have not had a single issue with the cap arise. I always carry it by the strap and it is holding up fine. I don't over tighten the cap because it doesn't seem necessary to get a good seal, never had any leakage. Dropped it on the tile kitchen floor recently (while tossing it in the air and catching it) and it hit the floor hard, cap first. Put a tiny dent in the edge of the cap (shown in pic) and in the bottom corner of the container. Still no leakage or breakage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It broke! I had my new 40 oz hydro flask in service for about a week when the center of the lid broke. The connection point between the strap and the lid is very weak.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flimsy and not durable I received one of these water bottles for Christmas and I was incredibly excited from all the amazing reviews I heard from my coworkers and friends about this water bottle. And to be honest I still have no complaints about the bottle itself. However after one of my students dropped the bottle for the first time this week the lid broke completely. It has been rendered completely useless in its first real test at work..if I am going to be spending this kind of money on something that keeps my drinks cold/hot it should be built to last and should be durable enough to withstand a fall from 4 ft...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits tight, well insulated Just got the Wide mouth 32oz water bottle and this lid works great! Fits tight with no leaks, easy to tighten and loosen with the rubber grip on the outside and its really well insulated. I have use competitors wide mouth bottles and the lid is the weak point, you can tell when a bottle is loosing heat/cool from the lid and this one works great. Only 4 stars because I wish I could get at the seal easier for cleaning.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The strap broke This broke on a 64 oz hydroflask after light use for 2 years. It was never put in the dishwasher. Can the strength be improved? It broke right near the bend in the strap.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good... For a little while I love my 40 oz bottle, but unfortunately the lid is poorly designed. It's attactive and well insulated but it takes a lot of torque to completely seal the cap, and if you aren't careful the rubbery grip will come off. Then there is always condensation on the inside of the lid, and it drips everywhere when I open it. Even disposable water bottles have a radial seal and a cup that makes it easier to open and catches the condensation. Plus the lanyard broke after only a couple months of light use- my Nalgene bottle lids never had a issue after years of torture.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from :( This is my favorite style of lid, especially if you drink anything but water from your bottle, it's easiest to wash. I was satisfied with the lid for a few weeks, I sometimes dropped my water bottle on hardwood floor or straight onto asphalt and nothing happened to it. I dropped it once onto very thick and cushioned carpet, and the lid completely cracked and fractured into small parts. Some give and take.

Q & A

can i put this product in the dishwasher?

Asked by: dylan 715
We do not recommend putting your flask through the dishwasher or soak the exterior in hot water: The dishwasher can get hot enough to affect the insulation property of the flask as well as discolor the powder coat. Similarly, soaking your entire flask in hot water can discolor the powder coat.

How do you clean the inside of the flask if I don't have a dishwasher

Asked by: ChipsZ
We do not recommend using the dishwasher to clean your flask. Instead, wash your flask with a bottle brush. You can find a perfect bottle brush in the baby section of most grocery stores. Use the bottle brush as frequently as possible. For more details on how to clean your flask, visit our Care page: http://www.hydroflask.com/caring-for-your-hydro-flask/
